Tuesday and Wednesday haven’t been good folks. Don’t get me wrong, my family is fine and everything went smoothly, but the days have been clouded (and still are) with the knowledge that one of the ladies in our homeschooling community lost her son tragically to swine flu. It was completely insane and hard to process that a kid, the same age as my oldest child, is just gone. Like that…… poof! Continue reading “Losing a child, has me thinking “
As I sit and watch my kid swim today (yes, it’s like 11 degrees outside and she’s swimming…… indoors at least) I’m slowly breathing in and out because today was one of those days when it started out perfectly and everything ran completely smooth and then……….
WHAM!! As I’m enjoying the peaceful moments of getting into my exercise routine, my kid comes and says she’s left her swimming costume at home. Continue reading “Guilt vs Owning my stuff….”
It’s been such a long time since I posted about homeschooling with my kids. Well, today I thought I would show you guys what it’s like to teach a little 2 year old at home. I took a video of what my little man gets up to when we get the structured time in. Iraina accompanied me in this one and we’re looking all spiffy in our pyjama’s and unbrushed hair. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before – but I really enjoy doing crochet. I know it’s a granny thing to do, but I absolutely love it. And when winter rolls in, I go absolutely bonkers for wool and hooks. Anyway, I’ve found that it really helps with gifts and special traditions that have become really personal – not only to me but to the receiver as well. Continue reading “Me and my Crochet”
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but I think I really like my kids. Every one knows that we naturally love our kids, but liking them doesn’t always comes easy. At the moment, I really do like them. Today I want to highlight my little gentleman in training. He is absolutely the cutest thing. Many that know him will agree with me. He has a way of asking for something (even though you’ve said no, like 60 times) that just melts your heart and makes you just want to say, “ok”. Continue reading “Jude in June 2017”
Being a grown up isn’t always fun. Every body knows that, right? It has it’s moments and I’m absolutely fine with the whole idea of growing up. I must admit that when I turned 25, I remember freaking out a lot. Then 30 hit and I was like, “Woohoo baby! I’ve made it! Let’s celebrate with something just for me!” no big party, let me spend the party money on myself and have a massive Tattoo Continue reading “Me and my Greys”
While I wait for my video edit to render (video editor jargon for “smooth itself out”), I am holding my head up by it’s last thread and ignoring the rumblings of my tummy. It’s late and I’m between thoughts of binging on whatever I can find in our child friendly cupboards and fridge or just pushing through and G.I. Joe’ing my way through the next 20-30 minutes. Continue reading “Hangry Mommy’s resolution to a bad day”
