Iraina turned 8 and I feel like smacking myself across the head because I didn’t even make any effort to document her celebration. Guys! This is when I often feel the most “mommy guilt” when it comes to this beautiful child of ours. She is absolutely amazing and yet, because of when her birthday falls – it has often become our “just get it over and done with” part of the year. Continue reading “Iraina’s Arts and Craft Party”
Today our beautiful Iraina turns 8! Ok, give me a sec – I just have to pull myself together as I realise that my second born is 8 whole years old!! what is happening? Time is flying way too fast. Anyway, as promised a few months ago on Aislyn’s birthday – I am going to take the time to type out my daughter’s birth story. It’s drama free and not as long as Aislyn’s but it’s an absolute miracle how it all unfolded. It’s the kind of birth story that sounds a little too easy. This past weekend has been one of the most emotional roller coasters I’ve been on in a very long time. And what was even more taxing was that none of the emotion had to do with my insecurities or my “girlie” issues.
My kid got sick and it scared me. Continue reading “How our Scary moment turned Gold”
It’s been such a long time since I posted about homeschooling with my kids. Well, today I thought I would show you guys what it’s like to teach a little 2 year old at home. I took a video of what my little man gets up to when we get the structured time in. Iraina accompanied me in this one and we’re looking all spiffy in our pyjama’s and unbrushed hair. Continue reading “Homeschool Friday Feedback”
So how did it go? I hear you ask. I know I had a fat rant at the beginning of the week about the girls and what to do with their discipline and stuff. Well, I sat them down on Monday night and just plainly explained that I was completely done with making reward charts, motivating with sweets, stars and money.
