Our 10yr old Speaking up to an Adult

I know it’s Thursday, but I’ve been really wanting to share this part of our week with you ever since it happened. It’s one of those that has Tim and I sitting back and really glowing with pride over our daughter. Yup, it’s one of those brag moments again. Similar to the one Iraina had last year.

This time it involved Aislyn, our 10 year old daughter. Continue reading “Our 10yr old Speaking up to an Adult”

Meet “Our Special Story” friends – having friends with a special needs child

It’s funny how often the first thing I want to do as a parent is whine a little about my kids and how tired I am after a rough night or whatever the case may be. It’s weird really, because honestly which parent isn’t having some sort of a hard time. Then, just when you think that having all three of your kids smothered in chicken pox for a week is hard work (with a 10 month old teething with a runny stomach-it was hectic guys!) then you meet people like our wonderful friends Josh and Amberley Klinkenberg. Dude’s!! Continue reading “Meet “Our Special Story” friends – having friends with a special needs child”

Feder Valentines Day tradition

It’s nearing to the end of February and the “month of love” is starting to slowly turn into bunnies and chocolate focus. I’m all for a holiday or a day that turns me towards chocolate. Yes, Hi – my name is Shaveh and I’m a chocoholic. I’m slowly starting to train myself to enjoy more refined tastes of it because, this sister isn’t getting any younger. Plus my gutt just hates me when I put sugary things into it now because baby number 3 ruined that for me. But I will continue to force it in there because, come on! It just tastes SO GOOD!!! Feder Family Feedback

You know it’s been a long time when you don’t quite know how to start up again. It’s like picking something up again that’s been just lying there, screaming at you – “It’s time to do this again!! You’ll really enjoy it!”

Well that’s part of the reason I’ve been away from our blog for so long. It’s been the most incredible rediscovery of not only myself, but just of what I want to do with this space. Continue reading “Feder Family Feedback”

Christmas 2017

I haven’t really ever written about our Christmas celebrations and what we do. But while the season is still sitting in the foreground of all of our memories, I might as well log it and share a few simple traditions we always do on Christmas Day. Continue reading “Christmas 2017”

6 Things I learned about Cherry Picking

What is with this time of the year? It’s insane how, as much as I try to rest and chill – the more activity pops up and all of the dreams I had to sit and blog my heart away, are “poof!” – gone. I’ve just had to come to terms with the fact that my life is continuously busy and I’m just going to have to snatch as many ‘me’ moments as I can. This would be to do the things that I want to do and hopefully make awesome memories with my family.

Talking about memories with family. Continue reading “6 Things I learned about Cherry Picking”

Don’t you wish you could just go back?

Ok, I’m probably going to be like, majorly nostalgic in this one. This week builds up to the day I turn 35. Plus I’ve had one of those weekends of rehashing memories and just facing my “younger” self, all over again. Birthday’s do this to me, I honestly don’t know why. This whole process might explain why I don’t really like to make a big deal about them for myself. It’s weird, since I’m an extrovert. Continue reading “Don’t you wish you could just go back?”

My husband’s Patience added Value to another part of “me”

A few weeks ago I wrote about the different Mom “me’s”. It’s honestly the craziest journey to hold all of the “me’s” together and somehow put up some form of ‘normal’ in each scenario. All of this ‘holding together’ while trying to actually discover what each part means and whether they should actually be up front in this current “scene” in my life’s play.  Continue reading “My husband’s Patience added Value to another part of “me””

Friday Feder Files – how’s the family doing?

Friday morning has made me all reflective and I think it would be appropriate to have a little update on where my little tribe are at. Let’s start with Tim. As you might have read, about two weeks ago, he went in for a hernia surgery repair thing. To date, it’s been interesting. Continue reading “Friday Feder Files – how’s the family doing?”

What being married has taught me

So yesterday my hubby and I marked 12 years in our marriage belt. I honestly feel like I’ve been married for longer, but 12 still feels really good to say. But what’s really awesome (and wasn’t planned at all this way) is that we share our anniversary with my grandparents who have been married for 62 years. 62 years, just let that sink in a bit…..
