Can we ever find true Happiness?

I had the most profound discussion with my daughter, in the car, about a week ago. I was completely blown away by her response and it got me thinking and processing my own perception of what she said. I don’t exactly remember how the topic came up – I think it may have been a song or conversation that came on the radio. But the basics of what we heard was that this person was saying ‘something’ will make them completely happy. Continue reading “Can we ever find true Happiness?”

Faith vs Fear – how do I even?

Ok, so I’m still slightly freaked out by all of the snatching, kidnapping, school letters and all round bad news about child abductions. Like I wrote about child safety we need to do our best to educate ourselves, and our kids, about being safe. But, can we really live our lives like this? constantly looking over our shoulders, one eye open and feel anxious? To this – I shout out, “NO!! No more!” Continue reading “Faith vs Fear – how do I even?”

Meet “Our Special Story” friends – having friends with a special needs child

It’s funny how often the first thing I want to do as a parent is whine a little about my kids and how tired I am after a rough night or whatever the case may be. It’s weird really, because honestly which parent isn’t having some sort of a hard time. Then, just when you think that having all three of your kids smothered in chicken pox for a week is hard work (with a 10 month old teething with a runny stomach-it was hectic guys!) then you meet people like our wonderful friends Josh and Amberley Klinkenberg. Dude’s!! Continue reading “Meet “Our Special Story” friends – having friends with a special needs child”

Being a Ministry Wife – Early Highs and Lows

I’m really enjoying this series and learning from other women who’ve been through different ministry experiences. This week I asked them what their earliest highlight was and what the earliest low light was. With the low light what they learned from it. Once again, as I wrote in the first installment – I’m keeping everyone anonymous and some weeks there’s be plenty of responses and others there’ll be a few because they are all very busy ladies. Here’s 3 stories for you to read. I hope you learn something new about the way that we live our lives. Continue reading “Being a Ministry Wife – Early Highs and Lows”

I’m Human, Ok! – but He has my back

Have you ever had a season where you just don’t feel the wheels are on properly? You know that feeling? It’s kind of overwhelming and out of control but at the same time you know your life is just going to just keep on moving ahead and continue until you grapple and gain control again? Anyone relate? Continue reading “I’m Human, Ok! – but He has my back”

How our Scary moment turned Gold

This past weekend has been one of the most emotional roller coasters I’ve been on in a very long time. And what was even more taxing was that none of the emotion had to do with my insecurities or my “girlie” issues.

My kid got sick and it scared me. Continue reading “How our Scary moment turned Gold”

Behind the Scenes – what you don’t always read about before an event

Sherbit! It’s been a long time since I’ve actually been able to sit down and write anything. You will not believe how intense the last few days/week has been. I feel like I could literally exhale all of my troubles, memories and victories right here for you to read. There’s probably going to be like three posts coming out of me today. Continue reading “Behind the Scenes – what you don’t always read about before an event”
