Jude’s reaction to his new Car Seat #CarseatFullstop (when do I move my kid to the next size car seat?)

It’s time to get back into the rhythm of real life as we know it. I honestly don’t know about your kids, but mine seem to stand in fertiliser in winter and then the moment spring hits – shjoop, they’ve outgrown all of their winter stuff and yet it’s not cold enough to buy any new ones, so I just muscle through the season of Tom Sawyer (or hit the sales rack and make my kids look like the clothes are way too big for them and just keep them for next year)

So with this, comes other aspects of their lives I need to take into consideration. Besides the clothes and shoes, I always take the time to look at them in their car seats. Obviously it’s a lot easier to assess when they’re itty bitty babies and you can see that they aren’t that little newborn you thought would never fill out the seat but have become a 12 month old and moving around – actually engaging the world at a different level in the car. I don’t want to “adult” today!

Growing up is something I longed to do from the age of about 3 or 4 until I was about 18/19 – maybe stretch it to about 22. But there comes a time when being a grown up isn’t as much fun as I thought it would be. I remember playing house, arranging fake furniture in my “play play” house that I had made with one layer of bricks, that even had a passage with bedrooms and stuff. Guys, I was hard core – there were even doors (that were just openings) and you couldn’t just walk over the bricks, I had to go through the doors of my architectural drawing type house.
