Strategy in case of a “Disaster”

I don’t know about you, but I have moments when I just strategise what I’d do should a tragedy happen. Have you ever done that? Now, don’t get me wrong – it’s not in a “fear the worst” kind of way – it’s more like, “let’s just have a plan in case” kind of way. Now, before you think I’ve got some sort of problem that I’m trying to work through – I’m actually wanting to actually do what I’ve always wanted to do because of my “strategy plan”. Happy 10th Birthday – Aislyn’s birth story

Today marks the 10th year that Tim and I have been official parents. This time 10 years ago we had Aislyn arrive into our lives and it was one of the biggest shifts for us as adults. Her entry into our world was something I will never forget. It tested all of my endurance – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. So, since today marks the day that our little girl arrived, I thought I would type out what I wrote down in her journal, that I kept throughout my pregnancy and ever since, as a life record/lesson for her future. So, here is her birth story. You should be warned, it’s long. (I didn’t use Facebook a lot then so I needed to document everything in words)

The 6 month hurdle

Over the last week I have had the time to think about how much I really don’t enjoy this exact season of a baby’s life and also this time of year. Let me explain,

Every time my children are at this age (6-8months) they are extremely needy and it’s all due to the fact that they want to be mobile but can’t yet and also I’m still learning to understand when they’re in pain or if they’re just throwing a tantrum. Obviously a baby one 🙂 Continue reading “The 6 month hurdle”

Winter 2015

This has been the hardest winter I have ever been through in my whole life. I honestly haven’t had to deal with being so tired ever before and at the same time take care of a sick family and breastfeed a little hungry boy. I thought I was going to lose my mind. Continue reading “Winter 2015”

36 weeks and the count down begins

It’s Monday night and Jude is moving as he usually does in my thinly stretched abdomen. I can’t believe it’s almost time. I’m resting as much as I can and doing as little as possible. I’m praying Jude only arrive in January and gives me the opportunity to get through the Christmas season-but if he comes earlier we’ll just deal with that bridge when it’s time.

34 Weeks and counting

Today marks 8.5months in the road of growing Jude the dude. It’s been harder than any of the other two pregnancies-I think mainly due to the fact that he’s already so big. We weighed in at about 2.2kgs at the last scan and that was a week ago.
Our gynae predicts that he could be a 3.8kg baby at birth but calculation can be wrong and we’ll only know for sure once he’s here. Continue reading “34 Weeks and counting”
