Today I was doing my usual scrolling through social media and was honestly, slightly overwhelmed with all of the mess in our world. It’s hard to have so much information about a world so big and being so small and feeling completely powerless about the massive problems in the world. Many countries lack human rights that we can’t even begin to understand – especially growing up ‘free’. Continue reading “How do you make a difference in a messed up world?”
All I can say is that I’m really glad that I’m a homeschool mommy. I say this because after the last two weeks we’ve had, it’s really wonderful to have the option to take the day off. I honestly don’t know how working mommies do it – ya’ll are super human for real. Now listen, when I say take the day off – I mean really, how do you take the day off with three children hanging around in your space, right? so, before I say Continue reading “How do you cope after a crazy weekend?”
You know that we went away last week and as much as I’d love to tell you that we had all the time in the world to lie in each others arms and watch our children play pleasantly together – this is not reality as a normal parent, never mind having a husband that is working for himself. Now, before I get into the nitty gritty of this post – let’s be clear Continue reading “Going on Holiday with an Entrepreneur”
Shoo, Tuesday came and it went hey? As much as it was a ‘relaxing’ day, the heat kinda knocks it out of you and all you want to do is drink litres of unhealthy fizzies and lay in a pool of comfortably cool water. Sigh…… oh, I’m sorry – I completely lost my reason for this post there, lol. So, homeschool approaches – hmmm. So what I’ve thought would be Continue reading “The Basic Homeschooling approaches”
It’s honestly one of the worst parts of my everyday life – battling in my mind about what I have and what other people have. The whole contentment thing. Now, wait – Please know that I am completely happy with where we’re at in life and I know the vision we have as a family and what God’s called us to do and be to each other and those around us. But I’m still human and walking one step at a time. Continue reading “My ‘stuff’ vs Your ‘stuff’”
Ok, so I know it’s Monday and like 85% of the average South African family has taken the day off because of the public holiday tomorrow, but as a family we fall into that 15% that are back at work and doing our normal routine (well as normal as a flexible routine can be – especially given that extra murals are also on hold) anyway, so – you know that feeling you feel at the end of the weekend, as Monday is peeking it’s eyes over the horizon at you? Continue reading “Post Holiday blues”
It’s been the strangest feeling being away on holiday. I didn’t have any data (on purpose) and there wasn’t any wifi. So after having such a great few weeks of blogging my heart away, I withdrew completely to prove I could detox from the unction to write and share our every day.
Well it has been harder than I thought it would be, but I did it and now I’m back and here’s a few tidbits from our trip away. Continue reading “We’ve been on holiday 2017”
